DESCRIPTION:Private Masterclass: June 27, 1-3pm\nKey to Change students who placed in the 2022 Solo String Festival will participate in this special masterclass with Eduardo Rios, First Assistant Concertmaster of the Seattle Symphony.\nThe program will be as follows:\nAvi Spillers, violin (7th grade)\nVaughn-Jones Piece no. 1 and Waltz\nEden Pawlos, violin (9th grade)\nMillies Concertino in D major, 3rd movement\nMadison Wooley, violin (12th grade)\nSevern Polish Dance\nAbout Eduardo Rios\nWinner of the 2015 Sphinx Competition, violinist Eduardo Rios joins the orchestra as the Seattle Symphony’s First Assistant Concertmaster. Prior to the appointment, he was a Resident Fellow with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Born and raised in Lima, Peru, Eduardo began playing the violin at age ten and made his solo debut at age fourteen with the National Symphony Orchestra of Peru and his U.S. debut in 2015 with the Houston Symphony. Additional solo engagements include performances with the Nashville Symphony, Charlotte Symphony, Orchestra of the Americas, Colburn Orchestra, Chattanooga Symphony, and the National Repertory Orchestra. Eduardo studied violin in Peru with Laszlo Benedek at the National Conservatory, and received his Bachelor of Music and Artist Diploma at the Colburn School Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, where he studied with Robert Lipsett, the Jascha Heifetz Distinguished Violin Chair.\n\n
