DESCRIPTION:This special masterclass in our Inspiring Possibilities series features a renowned guest: David W. Madsen, PhD and Professor Emeritus from Seattle University. As part of our commitment to college and career readiness, this college essay writing workshop will help our students learn good writing skills, which Dr. Madsen emphasizes as the greatest key to success in college. If interested in attending, please contact our office to RSVP at info@keytochangestudio.org.\nBorn and raised in Everett, Dr. Madsen attended Saint Edward’s Seminary in high school, Seattle University for his BA in Classics, and earned his PhD at the University of Washington also in Classics. During his years at Seattle University he taught courses in the humanities, ancient and medieval history, Latin, and world literature. For nine years he directed the University’s Honors Program and for twenty five years he moderated the University’s Naef Scholars Program. Both Honors and the Naef programs required application essays, so he has plenty of experience in evaluating student essays.\nThis session is the first of three writing workshops designed to prepare our students for their college admissions process.\n
