At Key to Change, we are committed to preparing our students for the future by expanding access to excellence through holistic programming. On February 5, 2026, our Renton studio welcomed Joan Wang, Managing Director for the Pacific Northwest Region at Delta Air Lines, for the fifth lecture in our Inspiring Possibilities college and career readiness series.
The evening began with wonderful student solo performances from Justice, Tyree, and Thomas, setting the tone for an inspiring program. In conversation with Key to Change Executive Director & Founder, Dr. Quinton Morris, Wang shared a candid and deeply personal reflection on her professional journey.
Raised as a multilingual daughter of a diplomat, Wang described how her global upbringing shaped her worldview, confidence, and leadership style. She began her career as a school counselor before transitioning into the corporate sector, ultimately rising to a senior leadership role at a global company.
Throughout the discussion, Wang emphasized the importance of intentionality, goal setting, and beginning with the end in mind. She spoke about the value of embracing diverse experiences, seeking feedback, and remaining open to growth. Her background in counseling and career development was evident as she offered practical insights to help students pursue their passions with clarity and purpose.
Wang received her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degree in Human Development from Boston College as well as her Master of Arts and Master of Education degrees in Psychological Counseling from Columbia University.
Guests left the event inspired and with a broader understanding of the opportunities available across industries. We are grateful to Joan Wang for investing her time and wisdom in our students and community.
Delta Air Lines is a proud corporate sponsor of Key to Change’s Spring Salon Fundraiser. We extend our warmest thanks to both Joan and Delta for supporting our students.
