Music of Remembrance Partners with Key to Change

Key to Change is thrilled to announce that Music of Remembrance (MOR) is partnering with us to sponsor a young musician. MOR, a Seattle-based nonprofit that explores human rights and social justice through music, is closely aligned with Key to Change’ mission.

Over the next four years, MOR will cover the tuition costs for one beginner student based on their financial need. The recipient of this scholarship will be announced at our Spring Salon Fundraiser on May 4 at Benaroya Hall.

MOR’s leadership shares why they chose to support Key to Change. Mina Miller, Founder and Artistic Director, said, “Music of Remembrance admires the meaningful work of Key to Change. Their commitment to removing barriers aligns with our mission of addressing questions of human rights and social justice through the transformative power of music. We are proud to support Key to Change’s important work.” And Jonathan Green, Vice Chair of the Music of Remembrance Board and bassist with the MOR core ensemble, added, “Because we believe that financial insecurity shouldn’t be a barrier to music education, Music of Remembrance is proud to support Key to Change with a four-year commitment to their scholarship program.”

In addition to MOR’s generous support, we are grateful for sponsorships for our Spring Salon Fundraiser and Solo String Festival from organizations and businesses across the Seattle area. These include Hutteball + Oremus, the Seattle Symphony, Hammond Ashley Violins, Cornerstone General Contractors, Starkie Lutherie, and Bischofberger Violins. Their support helps us provide high-quality music education and performance opportunities to students in our community.

We look forward to celebrating this partnership and the impact of music education at our Spring Salon Fundraiser on May 4 at Benaroya Hall.
