Student Violinist Wins Award & Performance

Eden Pawlos wins concerto competition and will make debut with University of Washington Campus Philharmonia

Yesterday, Eden Pawlos, a student violinist at Key to Change won the annual Key to Change concerto competition, winning first place. As a result of winning, Eden will make her debut as a guest soloist with the University of Washington’s Campus Philharmonia with David Alexander Rahbee conducting. Two UW professors, Rachel Lee Priday (violinist) and Craig Sheppard (pianist) served as adjudicators.

Eden is an 11th grader at Kentridge High School and studies violin with Dr. Quinton Morris and coaches with Noah Geller and Geoffrey Liu. She has appeared as a guest soloist with the Seattle Symphony, Federal Way Symphony, and the Northwest Symphony Orchestra, and performed on Classical King FM.

She is also the first place recipient of the Jessie Montgomery Competitive Division of the Solo String Festival (2023), which resulted in her winning a $1,000 college scholarship, a violin on loan from David Van Zandt Violins, and many concert performances in the community.

Eden will appear with the University of Washington’s Campus Philharmonia on May 18, 2024 at 3:00pm at Meany Center for the Performing Arts.
