YAA students receive:

• Two individual violin or viola lessons each week, including one weekly lesson with piano (Lessons with Dr. Quinton Morris, Mara Gearman, or Timothy Garland)
•  Studio Masterclasses and other learning experiences with renowned guest artists, professional musicians, university professors, and Seattle Symphony musicians 
• Participation in Key to Change’s Solo String Festival Concerto Competition
• Outreach concerts and special performance opportunities
• Special Seattle Symphony experiences and activities, including opportunities to attend selected Masterworks concerts, subject to availability 
• Opportunities to attend selected open rehearsals, workshops, and events at Benaroya Hall
• Opportunities to meet and learn from professional musicians and arts leaders
• Access to selected Seattle Symphony Masterworks concerts, subject to availability
• Access to an instrument from the Key to Change instrument library when needed; students are responsible for maintenance costs.

Tuition: $2,400 per term

Tuition includes twice weekly individual instruction, regular work with piano, Studio Classes, guest artist masterclasses, Concerto Competition participation, and outreach performance opportunities.

Financial aid is available for qualifying South King County families.

Young Artist Academy students have gone on to make their professional solo debuts with orchestras throughout the Seattle area.

Through YAA, students learn how to prepare at a high level, collaborate with professional musicians, perform with confidence, and develop the skills and discipline required for advanced performance. .

You don’t have to arrive as a finished musician. You do need to arrive ready to work, grow, and discover what you can do.

Students who live outside South King County may apply to the Young Artist Academy. Out of Network tuition applies.
