Key to Change Young Artist Academy violinist Sid Siravara performed as a soloist with the Tacoma Community College Chamber Orchestra on Monday, March 16, 2026, in Building 2 on Tacoma Community College’s campus. The concert drew a full audience despite the rescheduling from Friday’s snowstorm, and Sid received a very warm welcome from listeners as he took the stage.

For the performance, Sid played the first movement of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Violin Concerto in A minor, one of the most celebrated works in the violin repertoire. His performance marked an exciting milestone in his development as a young artist.

With this appearance, Sid becomes the fifth Key to Change student to perform with the Tacoma Community College Chamber Orchestra. The other four performers are alumni of the program, making Sid the first current student to join this distinguished group.

“For the past several years it has been a delight to collaborate with Dr. Morris and the Key to Change students. We have been able to feature several student soloists with the Tacoma Community College Orchestra in works by Vivaldi, Telemann, and Bach”, said John Falskow, Director of Instrumental Music at Tacoma Community College and Artistic Director and Conductor of Seattle Wind Symphony. “Sid performs with confidence and musicianship. From the first rehearsal he attended, we’ve been able to focus on details and expression.”

Sid joined Key to Change in August 2024 and studies violin with Dr. Quinton Morris as a member of the Young Artist Academy. Originally from the greater Seattle area, he grew up in Issaquah, Sammamish, and Mercer Island and began playing the violin at the age of five.

As a developing musician, Sid has already performed in masterclasses for several distinguished violinists, including Noah Geller, Melissa White, Curtis Stewart, and Hilary Hahn. His musical inspirations include violinists Hilary Hahn and Itzhak Perlman, whose recordings he listens to frequently. He is especially drawn to the music of Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky.

Sid’s goal as a musician is to create meaningful music that he can share with others through performance. In addition to his musical pursuits, he plans to attend college to study chemistry or chemical engineering, with the hope of contributing to a more sustainable future. Outside of violin, he enjoys reading, exploring new foods, and listening to and playing a wide variety of musical styles.

The annual concert features students from Key to Change performing alongside professional musicians in a celebration of young artists and community music making.

Key to Change is a nonprofit violin and viola studio with locations in Federal Way and Renton where middle and high school students receive world class music instruction from Dr. Quinton Morris and a distinguished faculty of professional musicians.
