Thomas Luu Makes Second Solo Debut

Thomas debuted with the Federal Way Symphony Orchestra on December 6, 2025

Thomas Luu, our violin student who made his solo debut with the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra in October, achieved another significant milestone by performing with the Federal Way Symphony Orchestra. During last Saturday’s holiday concert, Thomas presented all three movements of Vivaldi’s Violin Concerto in A Minor with exceptional artistry and composure. The fourteen-minute piece was performed entirely from memory and executed with poise and confidence.

This appearance marked Thomas’ second solo performance with a full orchestra, and it was delivered to a fully packed audience of several hundred guests. Following the performance, he received numerous compliments, written remarks, and congratulations from fellow musicians and community members. Adam Stern, distinguished conductor of both the Seattle Philharmonic and Federal Way Symphony, has continued to express high regard for Thomas and the exceptional quality of his musicianship.

Thomas is a freshman at Raisbeck Aviation High School and a student in our Young Artist Academy. He began violin lessons at Key to Change in the summer of 2023 as a complete beginner. In just two and a half years, he has demonstrated remarkable progress, dedication, and commitment to his violin study. At only 15 years of age, Thomas shows extraordinary promise for a bright future.

Thomas currently performs on a new violin he received this year through the generosity of a donor. Our organization takes great pride in his achievements and looks forward to his continued growth. Bravo, Thomas for this outstanding accomplishment.
