Dr. Natasha Kubit and Chris Powell Present Inspiring Community Concert

Dr. Natasha Kubit performing a virtuoso recital for our community at our Renton studio location

On May 11, the Key to Change community gathered for an unforgettable afternoon of music, inspiration, and artistry as violin and viola instructor Dr. Natasha Kubit performed for students, families, donors, and community members. Accompanied by pianist Chris Powell, Dr. Kubit delivered a breathtaking program featuring works by Sergei Prokofiev, Amy Beach, and Grażyna Bacewicz.

The performance was filled with brilliance, passion, and deep musical expression. But what made the concert especially meaningful was the story behind the music itself.

Many of the pieces Dr. Kubit performed were works she studied when she was around the same age as many of our students today. By revisiting this repertoire, she invited students into her own musical journey and showed them that accomplished artists also begin as young musicians with curiosity, discipline, and big dreams.

For students, experiences like this are transformative. They do not simply hear professional musicians perform. They see their own teachers demonstrating artistry, dedication, and excellence at the highest level. They begin to imagine what may be possible for their own futures.

These concerts also allow families, donors, and community members to experience the mission of Key to Change in a powerful and personal way. Music becomes more than performance. It becomes connection, mentorship, and inspiration shared across generations.

We are deeply grateful to have extraordinary artists and educators like Dr. Natasha Kubit and Chris Powell as part of the Key to Change community. Through both their teaching and their performances, our students are reminded that excellence is not something distant. It is something they can witness up close and strive toward every day.
